Procedure
Let us go through the experiment of Verifying Maximum Power Transfer Theorem.
- Get the Required components on the working area.
- Form an Appropiate circuit on the Breadboard by connecting the components to their right terminals.
- Check if the connections are right,if so you can now start to take Readings.
- Set DC voltage(0-20 V). Keep the Voltage Value constant.
- Set the Resistance Value(1 ohm - 200 ohm).
- Place the Ammeter in series with resistor (R 3).
- Now note the Ammeter readings.
- Increase the Resistance and Note all the readings in the Observation table.
- Plot the Power - Resistance graph to Verify Maximum Power Transfer Theorem .
- Repeat step 4 to 9 for another set of resistance value.
- Power versus Resistance graph should be a Parabola.
- Therefore from the graph we see that the Maximum power in a circuit is transferred when RL = RTH .
